New directions in vocal and instrumental chamber music . . .

CANTATICA is excited to announce the formation of an all-new ensemble - the CANTATICA Chamber Choir! This oustanding group of amateur singers, to be based in Allentown, is to be committed to being an energizing force in the world by making meaningful music and making life meaningful.The the professional CANTATICA Chamber Ensemble of the past (see below), the new choir will present unique, innovative, high quality performances of a broad range of musical styles including classical, contemporary, jazz/popular standard, folk/world, theater/opera, a cappella, and gospel - each program centered around a particular theme. Anticipated programs include American, Celtic, World Peace and Winter Solstice.


Membership in CANTATICA chamber will consist of outstanding, experienced choral singers who want to help  Included are singers and a variety of instrumentalists including piano/keyboards, strings, winds, guitar, harp, and percussion. All members are classically trained, versatile and highly competent performers capable of performing both as soloists and ensemble members.


Based in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania since it's inception, the ensemble is currently relocating to the Greater Philadelphia area where it will rehearse and present concerts throughout the year. Duplicates of each program will additionally be presented in the Lehigh Valley as well. And the group will collaborate with the new amateur choir being formed in Allentown.


​​Rehearsal times and sites are to be arranged according to musician’s schedules with rehearsals being held in Philadelphia and performances being presented in the Greater Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley areas. Initially, members will participate in a small promotional project involving rehearsals and a recording session.

Auditions

Auditions for an all-new chamber choir will begin with singers submitting applications and video-taped recordings of their singing. Voices should be flexible, well-controlled, and adaptable to various musical styles. The pianist should have soloist capabilities and experience accompanying and coaching art song singers. These are paid positions at competitive rates, commensurate with experience and talent.

CANTATICA is especially dedicated to supporting young and emerging professional artists.

The CANTATICA CHAMBER ENSEMLBE is a dynamic, versatile group of professional musicians - solo and ensemble singers and instrumentalists. It presents unique, innovative, high quality performances of a broad range of musical styles including classical, contemporary, jazz/popular standard, folk/world, theater/opera, a cappella, and gospel - each program centered around a particular theme. Recent programs have included I HEAR AMERICA SINGING!; FIDDLERS, BARDS, AND LOVERS ALL; WINTER SOLSTICE; JOYFUL, JAZZY AND JEWISH!; MUSIC OF THE CELTIC ISLES; and VIVA MUSICA!
